Get out your calendar. Go ahead and turn to November. Block off and circle November 8, 2009 with a big bold marker now. Don’t plan anything else on this day but church at Memorial. We’re having a “real” meeting that day. It will be the most important meeting of the year – perhaps for the last decade. It is a day of direction, vision, focus, challenge, and the future. November 8 is all about where we’re going and how we’re going to get there. It’s time to cast vision for these next steps – the next three years to be exact.
I’m excited, as are many others who have been a part of the strategic planning process over the summer. It’s a plan you can sink your teeth into. It’s a vision for today, which points us to the years ahead. There are actions, which require immediate attention with others that require some additional work. There is opportunity for you to get involved and make a difference at Memorial and more importantly in Baytown. In fact, there’s a place in the vision for everyone.
I can’t over emphasize the importance of November 8, 2009. For the future of Memorial, your attendance and participation is essential.
